My Fellow Countrymen,

Comrades and Friends,

We are gathered here today for a grand rally to cele-brate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China (PRC). For the Chinese people of all ethnic groups and Chinese sons and daughters at home and abroad, this is an exceptionally joyful moment. We take pride in and give our best wishes to our great motherland. Here on behalf of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, the National People's Congress, the State Council, the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and the Central Military Commission, I pay special tribute to all revolutionary forefathers and martyrs for their immortal contribution to national independence and liberation, a prosperous and strong China and the im-provement of the people's well-being! I extend warm con-gratulations to the Chinese people of all ethnic groups and all fellow Chinese at home and abroad, and express heartfelt gratitude to friends around the world for their care and sup-port for China's development!

Right here 70 years ago on this day, Comrade Mao Zedong solemnly declared to the world that the PRC was founded and the Chinese people had stood up. This great event completely reversed China's miserable fate born from poverty and weakness and of being bullied and humiliated over more than 100 years since the advent of the modern times. The Chinese nation has since embarked on the path of realizing great rejuvenation.

Over the past seven decades, the Chinese people of all ethnic groups, through concerted efforts and arduous struggle, have made great achievements that amazed the world. Today, a socialist China is standing firm in the East. No force can ever undermine our great motherland's status, or stop the Chinese people and the Chinese nation from marching forward.

Comrades and Friends,

On our journey forward, we must uphold the CPC's leadership, ensure the principal status of the people, stay on the path of socialism with Chinese characteristics and fully implement the CPC's basic theory, line and policy. We must strive to constantly meet people's aspirations for a better life and make new historic achievements.

On our journey forward, we must uphold the principles of “peaceful reunification” and “One Country, Two Sys-tems”, maintain long-term prosperity and stability in Hong Kong and Macao, promote the peaceful development of cross-Straits relations, unite all Chinese sons and daughters, and continue to strive for the motherland's complete reuni-fication.

On our journey forward, we will stay on the path of peaceful development and pursue a mutually beneficial strategy of opening-up. We will continue to work with peo-ple from all countries to build a community with a shared future for mankind.

The Chinese People's Liberation Army and the People's Armed Police Force should forever preserve their nature, purpose and character as the forces of the people, resolute-ly safeguard the country's sovereignty, security and develop-ment interests, and firmly uphold world peace.

Comrades and Friends,

China's yesterday has been inscribed in human history;China's today is being created in the hands of hundreds of millions of Chinese people; China's tomorrow will be even brighter. All members of the CPC and the armed forces and the people of all ethnic groups should unite closer to-gether, stay true to our original aspiration and mission, build on existing achievements and further develop our People's Republic. We should continue our hard work to achieve the Two Centenary Goals and the Chinese Dream of great na-tional rejuvenation!
